Hey, everyone. 🙂 I have some news!
Here’s the news: I’m dancing in an art exhibit called Body and Presence, through the city of Santa Clarita. The piece I’m showing is called Untitled Stim Piece and it’s a freeform percussive dance piece about my experiences with neurodivergence and masking. I’m really excited to be able to show this project!
I had performed an earlier version of this piece once as a student project at Pasadena City College during their end-of-semester show, and then I created a new-and-revised version for performance in Santa Clarita. It’ll be on view from September 12 through December 12, 2024. I’ll also do a single live performance on October 12 at the annual Business for Artists Conference.
The music is Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G Minor (the Prelude) performed and recorded by Ailbhe McDonagh who was so nice to give me permission to use the song for this piece (thank you so much!).
If you’d like to take a look at the filmed piece, you can find that here. Or, I’d love to see you in person on October 12. 🙂
